What We Do
We’re Californians who believe democracy works best when voters choose their representatives — not the other way around.
Fair Maps CA was born out of frustration with Sacramento’s attempt to overturn the will of the people and redraw districts for partisan advantage.
This isn’t a left-versus-right fight. It’s a fairness fight.
Our Mission
To protect California’s independent redistricting process and defend the principle of fair representation. We stand against Prop 50 and any effort to rig the system, no matter which party benefits in the short term.
Why We’re Speaking Out
Against the will of the people: Voters created an independent commission to stop political games. Politicians are trying to undo that.
Bad for everyone: Gerrymandering hurts Democrats, Republicans, and independents alike. When maps are rigged, elections lose legitimacy.
No real representation: Communities like Newport, Huntington, and Long Beach get lumped together in ways that silence unique local voices.
Political grandstanding: Governor Newsom and legislative leaders are using Prop 50 to score points in a national feud. Californians deserve better.
Our Values
Fairness: Every vote matters equally.
Transparency: Redistricting must be done in the open, not in backrooms.
Accountability: Leaders should follow the rules voters set — not rewrite them for advantage.
Community first: Representation should reflect real communities, not political strategy.
Join Us
We’re regular people — not politicians, not paid lobbyists. Just Californians who care about fairness.
If you believe in democracy, if you believe in your voice, and if you believe California should be better than political manipulation, you’re in the right place.
